Description

Used in the treatment of the bowel disease termed as ulcerative colitis, the drug doesn’t really cure the condition but basically hampers the symptoms of fever, stomach pain, diarrhoea and rectal bleeding. Azulfidine 500 mg (Sulfasalzine) affects the tissues in the body that causes inflammation, tissue damage and diarrhoea. The medication also works to reduce the irritation and swelling in the large intestines. The drug is also said to reduce joints swellings, pain and stiffness. Used in combination with other drugs Sulfasalazine works with rest and physical activity and is to be used after the patient has not responded to the NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs and salicylates)
