Description
Moduretic 50mg (Co-amilozide) is used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention. Moduretic is actually a water pill and is a combination of potassium sparing diuretic (amiloride) and thiazide diuretic. It helps by reducing the amount of salts and excessive water from the kidney and eventually the body as urine. The drug helps in maintaining blood pressure and the amiloride component that helps minimize potassium loss.
The excess water can cause swelling in ankles, shortness of breath and more tiredness than usual. Too much intake of food containing potassium should be avoided while using the above medicine. These foods may include bananas, raisins, milk and prunes. The side effects include dizziness, tiredness and weakness.
