How should you take Bactroban? Do not use Bactroban more often or for longer than prescribed. Avoid contact with eyes. Bactroban is for external use only. --If you miss a dose... Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to your regular schedule. --Storage instructions... Store at room temperature. What side effects may occur? Side effects cannot be anticipated. If any develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue using Bactroban. More common side effects may include: Burning, pain, stinging Why should Bactroban not be prescribed? If you are sensitive to or have ever had an allergic reaction to Bactroban or similar drugs, you should not use Bactroban. Make sure your doctor is aware of any drug reactions you have experienced. Special warnings about Bactroban Continued or prolonged use of Bactroban may result in the growth of bacteria that do not respond to Bactroban and can cause a secondary infection. Bactroban is not intended for use in the eyes. If your skin shows signs of an allergic reaction or irritation, stop using Bactroban and consult your doctor.
