Description

The cream is used in the treatment of clinically typical and non hyperkeratotic, nonhypertrophic actinic keratoses on the face and scalp in immunocompetent adults. It is an immune response modifier effective in the treatment of skin damaged by too much exposure of the sun. It is used in the treatment of minor cancerous cells called the superficial basal cell carcinoma in cases when surgery is not a feasible option.

Imiquimod topical is effective in the treatment for genital warts; however the imiquimod is not a cure for the genital warts that are usually apparent on the external parts of the body. The cream should not be used by children younger than 12 years of age. Without a proper medication guide the cream is not to be used.
