Description

The drug is included in the group of medicines called the anticonvulsants/antiepileptic and is used to control the occurrence of seizures in patients of epilepsy. The drug is used for the relief of pain due to post herpetic neuralgia (PHN). Neurontin 600mg  works by changing the sense of pain.

The disease causes burning or stabbing pains which may last for months after an attack of shingles. The Gabapentin Extended Release tablets are used to treat other nerve pain conditions like restless leg syndrome; RLS in which you are forced to move your legs due to discomfort caused to them and the urge to move them. However it is unknown how the drug acts in controlling the RLS in individuals. The drug treats the abnormal excitement caused in the brain which leads to seizures.
