Nolvadex 20mg is in a class of medications known as antiestrogens. The drug blocks the activity of estrogen (a female hormone) in the breast causing a reduction in the growth of tumors that need estrogen to grow. For the treatment of cancer spread to the different parts of the body, the medication is used in both men and women.

Nolvadex 20mg is effective in treatment of breast cancer in women who have gone through different treatments of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. The medication helps in reducing the worsening of the cancer which may reach the milk glands i.e. ductal carcinoma in situ; DCIS and those who have borne radiation and therapy. The drug is also used to reduce the occurrence of breast cancer that may be prone to the disease due to age, medical family or personal history.
