Mobic (Meloxicam) 15mg is used orally as a non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). Osteoarthritis is caused by the breakdown of the lining of the joints and rheumatoid arthritis is due to swelling of the lining of the joints. Meloxicam is used to treat the conditions caused by the above arthritis problems especially the swelling, tenderness and infections caused by them.  

The medication is also effective in treatment of Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, a type of arthritis which causes stiffness, swelling and tenderness in children who are 2 years of age or older. If treatment is required for chronic acute arthritis then you should seek the help of your health care professional if the treatment could be done without drugs for the pain caused by arthritis.
