Alleviating Allergy Attacks

September 3rd, 2013

For a layman, an allergy can be anything which may adversely affect our body. Allergy is actually an interaction between the immune system and a substance foreign to the body. This “foreign substance” or protein structure is termed an “allergen”. Common allergens include aeroallergens such as pollens, dust mite and animal dander proteins, and food allergens such as peanut and shellfish.A classic “allergic reaction” is one that can cause sudden tissue swelling, itching, sneezing and an increase in mucous production. In the lungs, it can cause wheezing and shortness of breath. Allergic reactions are distinctive because of excessive activation of certain white blood cells called mast cells and  basophils by a type of antibody called Immunoglobulin E (IgE). This reaction results in an inflammatory response which can range from causing discomfort to death.

Food allergic reactions results in the inflammation of the intestinal tract consequently causing nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In a “whole body” allergic reaction, including anaphylaxis, low blood pressure and shock can occur.

An “allergic response” is a continuing inflammation occurring in nasal allergy, asthma and eczema. In allergy of the airway, inflammation can occur and cause some symptoms without the sneezing, itching and wheezing. Diagnosis and effective treatment of allergic disorders requires consideration of both of these effects.

The most common allergies are mild like hay fever causing symptoms such as red eyes, itchiness, and runny nose, eczema, hives, or an asthma attack. In a susceptible person, a normally harmless substance-grass pollen or house dust, for example-is a threat. Hay fever, also known as seasonal allergic rhinitis, is most common in children and, particularly, teenagers, but one can develop hay fever at any age.

Allergies can play a major role in conditions such as asthma. In some people, severe allergies to environmental or dietary allergens or to medication may result in lifethreatening reactions called anaphylaxis. Food allergies and reactions to the venom of stinging insects such as wasps and bees are often associated with these severe reactions.

A variety of tests exist to diagnose allergic conditions. These tests include placing possible allergens on the skin and looking for a reaction such as swelling and blood tests to look for an allergen-specific IgE.

My Mexican Drugstore, an online portal for purchasing affordable brand and generic medicines, recommends treating allergies by avoiding known allergens, using steroids that modify the immune system in general, and medications such as antihistamines and decongestants which reduce symptoms. Many of these medications are taken by mouth, others are injected.

On My Mexican Drugstore, SANOFI AVENTIS presents Fexofenadine under the trade names such as  Allegra, Fexidine, Telfast, Fastofen, Tilfur, Vifas, Telfexo, Allerfexo, an antihistamine pharmaceutical drug used in the treatment of hay fever, allergy symptoms, and urticaria.

Fexofenadine, causes less drowsiness than first-generation histamine-receptor antagonists. It works by being an antagonist to the H1 receptor.

Also available on My Mexican Drugstore to control allergic reactions is Prednisone–in a class of drugs called corticosteroids. It prevents the release of substances in the body that cause inflammation and treats conditions such as allergic disorders, skin conditions, ulcerative colitis, arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, or breathing disorders.

Make use of My Mexican Drugstore’s online subscription facility to ensure that you medication reaches you on time, every time.

Good thing that severe food aelirgles were a rarity in the late 1930s and 1940s because if they were as prevalent as they are now there would not be enough healthy men to fight and we would be the US of Germany. In one lifetime we have gone from the Greatest to the Wimpiest Generation.

You really make it appear really easy with your presentation but I to find this topic to be actually one thing that I feel I would never understand.
It kind of feels too complicated and extremely broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to
    get the grasp of it!
